IRB Confirms Involvement in Rugby Expo
29 Aug 2008
We are delighted to announce that the International Rugby Board has this week confirmed it will participate in Rugby Expo and will send senior executive management to the event in November.
The IRB this week confirmed it will be a part of Rugby Expo by contributing to the conference programme as well as having additional profile through several of its development and promotional programmes. Expo provides a suitable platform for the IRB to lead discussion on topics such as, “What does rugby have to do to become an Olympic sport?” and “Developing the Emerging Nations”, both of which are issues at the core of the Board’s remit.
Expo will also be decorated handsomely with photographs selected from the IRB’s Photo of the Year 2008. The IRB has sanctioned two of its partners to attend and take exhibition stands – first, SOS IRB Kit Aid are to be one of our charity partners looking to collect as much rugby kit as possible to distribute to worthy recipients throughout the world and second, the IRB’s Administrative Academy will be showcasing its work in partnership with the World Academy of Sport to provide business training for rugby administrators.
The IRB’s support is a particularly exciting development for us as it will help enormously with our aim of making Expo an established worldwide event on the rugby calendar in the coming years and taking it to the emerging as well as the foundation rugby nations. We thank the IRB for its support.
