Rugby Expo Signs Dan Lyle

13 Aug 2008

Rugby Expo can announce the signing of Dan Lyle (former Bath, Leicester and USA International) as one of its latest ambassadors.

Lyle is now the 6th ambassador that Rugby Expo have signed up in as many months and his backing provides further indication of the growing support within the rugby community that is being given to the world’s first ever global business-to-business rugby union and league convention.

Dan Lyle, said: “More and more people play rugby in the States each year from youth, high school and college levels right through to senior level and I want to play my part in this development. With Rugby Expo focussed on broadening and developing the commercial appeal of the sport, there are synergies as to where the US and other nations need to focus. As there is only one direction the game can go if we all work together, this is a great opportunity for me to help drive forward;  It’s good to be part of the Rugby Expo team.”

Lyle, a 6ft 5in former Number 8, made his debut for The Eagles against Ireland in 1994. In the 1996/7 season he joined Bath where he played for seven seasons, including captaining the side in 2000/1. He played 125 games for the club and won the Heineken Cup with them in 1998, beating Brive in the final by one point. Lyle returned to America in 2003 following a short time at Leicester Tigers.
